Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Ownode iPhone app, the Ownode Home desktop app, and the relay service that connects them ("Ownode"). By using Ownode you agree to them.

What Ownode is

Ownode connects your iPhone to AI software running on a computer you own and control. We do not provide the AI model, and we do not run it. You choose, install, and run your own model server on your own hardware. The quality, accuracy, safety, and licensing of whatever model you install are between you and its provider.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the computer you pair, its security, and the software you install on it.
• You may pair only computers you own or are authorised to use.
• You must not use Ownode to break the law, to attack or overload the relay service, or to attempt to access another person's computer or data.
• You must not attempt to use the relay to carry traffic unrelated to connecting your own devices.

Your content

Your prompts, replies, and attachments are yours. They are encrypted end-to-end between your devices and we cannot read them, so we claim no rights over them and cannot moderate, recover, or restore them. Because your conversation history is stored only on your phone, deleting the app deletes it permanently.

AI output

Output produced by a model running on your computer can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. It is not professional advice of any kind. You are responsible for how you use it.

Remote access and availability

Remote access depends on a relay service we operate, on your internet connection, and on your computer being switched on and reachable. Ownode works on your local network with no relay at all. We provide the relay on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Subscriptions (Ownode Plus)

• Ownode is free for one paired computer. Ownode Plus raises that limit and is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.
• Because Ownode has no accounts, Plus is tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Use "Restore purchases" to re-activate it on another device signed in to the same Apple ID.

Termination

You may stop using Ownode at any time by unpairing your devices and deleting the apps. We may suspend access to the relay service for conduct that breaks these terms or that threatens the service or its other users.

Disclaimer of warranties

Ownode is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business arising out of your use of Ownode. Because your conversation history is stored only on your own device, you are responsible for any backup of it you may want.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be surfaced in the app. Continuing to use Ownode after a change means you accept the updated terms.
