MedKeep

Terms of Service

Last updated 28 September 2026

1. What MedKeep is

MedKeep is an app that helps you keep a personal list of your medicines, set reminders for when to take them, and log what you actually took. It also lets you look up public drug-label information for medicines already on your list.

MedKeep is not medical advice and not a medical device. It does not diagnose any condition, does not recommend a dose, and does not tell you whether to start, stop, or change a medicine. It only records what you tell it and reminds you of the schedule you set. Any drug information shown in the app comes from public government sources (see Section 6) and is for your own reference, not a recommendation. Always talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your medicines.

If you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. MedKeep is not an emergency service and reminders are not a substitute for emergency care.

2. Reminders are not guaranteed

MedKeep schedules reminders using your phone's notification system. That system is controlled by your phone's operating system (iOS or Android), not by MedKeep, and it can be affected by things outside our control: your phone being off or out of battery, "do not disturb" or focus modes, notification permissions being turned off, software updates, or the app being force-closed by the operating system.

Do not rely on MedKeep as your only safeguard for taking a medicine that is critical to your health. Use a backup method, such as a pillbox, a second alarm, or a caregiver check-in, for anything where a missed dose would be serious. We will do our best to make reminders reliable, but we cannot promise a notification will always arrive on time or at all.

3. Your data belongs to you

In this version of MedKeep, your medicine list, schedules, dose history, and notes are stored only on your device. We do not operate a server that holds this information, and we cannot see it, change it, or recover it for you if your device is lost, reset, or the app is uninstalled. Back up your device through your phone's own backup system (such as iCloud or Google's account backup) if you want a copy elsewhere.

You can export your history as a CSV or PDF file at any time from within the app, and you can delete all of your data on the device at any time from Settings. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

4. MedKeep Plus (optional subscription)

Everything described in Section 1 is free. MedKeep Plus is an optional subscription that adds two things: keeping separate medicine lists for more than one person on the same device, and attaching a photo to each medicine. Nothing that is free today becomes part of Plus.

Billing. Plus is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. The price for your region is shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) when you confirm the purchase.

Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.

Cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's account settings (on iPhone, Settings, your name, Subscriptions). You can also reach this from Settings, MedKeep Plus, Manage billing inside the app. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us.

Family Sharing. On the App Store, one Plus subscription can be shared with up to five other members of your Family Sharing group.

If Plus ends. Nothing you created is deleted. People you added and photos you attached stay on your device and stay visible; you just cannot add more people or new photos until you subscribe again.

Restoring. If you reinstall MedKeep or move to a new phone, use Restore purchases on the Plus screen to reconnect your subscription.

5. Acceptable use

Please use MedKeep only:

We may restrict access to the app for anyone who misuses it in a way that harms the service or other users.

6. Drug information comes from public sources

Drug-name search and interaction information use two free, public U.S. government services: the National Library of Medicine's RxNav/RxNorm service and the FDA's openFDA service. MedKeep displays what these services publish; it does not edit their content for medical accuracy, does not guarantee it is complete, current, or error-free, and does not rank or score how serious an interaction might be. These sources can be out of date, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable, and MedKeep may fail to show a real interaction or show an irrelevant one. This information is never a substitute for asking a pharmacist or doctor.

7. No warranty

MedKeep is provided "as is." We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not promise that any specific health outcome will follow from using it. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, whether stated directly or implied.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, MedKeep and the people who make it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including a missed or late reminder, a data-export error, or reliance on drug-label information displayed in the app. Nothing in these terms is meant to limit liability for something the law does not allow us to limit, such as fraud or gross negligence where that limitation would be unlawful.

If MedKeep is found liable for something despite this section, that liability is limited to the amount you paid to use the app in the 12 months before the claim (which, for the free version, is zero).

9. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update MedKeep and these terms over time, including to add optional features such as cloud backup or caregiver sharing. If we make a material change to these terms, we will update the "last updated" date and, where practical, notify you inside the app. Continuing to use MedKeep after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and, if you wish, delete your data as described in Section 3.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using MedKeep at any time by deleting the app and, if you want, using "Delete all data on this device" first. We may also suspend or end access for anyone who violates Section 5.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of MedKeep will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you and PETALFORM LLC each consent to that jurisdiction.
