Privacy Policy

The short version

MedKeep keeps your medication list and history on your device. We do not run a server that stores your medicines, doses, or notes, and we do not sell or share that information with anyone.

What MedKeep stores, and where

Your medicines, schedules, dose history, refill counts, and notes are saved only on the phone or computer you use MedKeep on. They are not sent to us. If you delete the app, or use "Delete all data on this device" in Settings, that information is gone.

Reminder settings (snooze length, overdue window, refill alerts) are saved on your device the same way.

People and medicine photos (MedKeep Plus). The names of people you add, and any photos you attach to a medicine, are saved on your device the same way. Photos are copied into MedKeep's own storage on your phone and are never uploaded. MedKeep asks for access to your photo library only when you choose to add a photo.

Exports, imports, and backup files (CSV, PDF, or a MedKeep backup file) are files you create or choose on purpose. Where you send them is up to you. Importing a file reads it on your device; nothing in it is uploaded.

What leaves your device

Drug-name search and interaction information. When you type a medicine name, MedKeep asks two public U.S. government services for matching names and label text: the National Library of Medicine's RxNav service and the FDA's openFDA service. The request contains the name you typed (or the names on your list, for the interaction check) and your device's network address, as with any web request. These services publish their own privacy notices. We do not store the results anywhere except in your app's temporary memory.

Purchases (MedKeep Plus). Subscriptions are sold by Apple (or Google). We never see your payment details. To know whether you have Plus, MedKeep uses a service called RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created on your device (not your name, email, or Apple ID), your purchase and subscription records, your device model, OS and app version, and your network address. It never receives your medicines, doses, notes, people, or photos. RevenueCat publishes its own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. MedKeep checks with RevenueCat when the app starts, so the random identifier is sent even if you never buy anything; without a purchase there is simply no subscription attached to it.

Crash reports (optional, only if the build is configured with Sentry). A crash report contains technical details about the error and your device model and OS version. It never includes medication names, doses, or notes.

Usage analytics (optional, only if the build is configured with PostHog, and on the web only after you accept the cookie banner). We record events like "a medication was added" or "an export was created" with no medication names, doses, notes, or any health information attached.

What MedKeep never does

Notifications

Dose and refill reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Turning them off in Settings or in your phone's notification settings stops them.

Children

MedKeep is intended for adults and for caregivers of any age managing an adult's medicines. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If a future version adds optional cloud backup or caregiver sharing, those features will be off by default, will ask for your consent before any information leaves your device, and this policy will be updated first.
