Email ankit013002+holdback@gmail.com. Holdback is built by one person, so replies usually take a day or two. Including your device and iOS/Android version helps.

What Holdback does

Holdback tells self-employed and 1099 workers two things: what percentage of each payment to set aside for taxes, and the exact quarterly estimate to send. It is deliberately not accounting software, and it never connects to your bank.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device. Your tax profile and the payments you log stay local unless you turn on Backup, which is opt-in. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your account and any backed-up data from our servers. You can also email the address above and it will be done for you. Full details: Delete your account.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Holdback Plus from Settings and choose Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to the App Store or Google Play account that bought them.

How do I get my data out?

Plus includes a year-end CSV export of every payment you logged, plus a Qualified Tip Income Statement if you track tips. Nothing is locked in.

Is the free trial charged automatically?

No. The 7-day trial is a local unlock of Plus features. It is not a store subscription, nothing is charged when it ends, and there is nothing to cancel.

Are the tax numbers current?

Holdback's 2026 federal figures follow IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 and the Social Security Administration's wage base, and it models all 50 states and DC.

Holdback gives estimates, not tax advice. It is not a substitute for a CPA or tax professional, and it does not file anything for you. Estimated-tax rules — including safe-harbor thresholds and the tips and overtime deductions — depend on your full circumstances. Verify anything that matters against IRS Publication 505 and Form 1040-ES, or ask a professional.
