Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms are between you and Petalform ("we", "us"), who operate Sip (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Sip.

What the Service does, and what it does not

Sip reads a drinks menu and suggests what you might enjoy, based on preferences you tell it and drinks you rate. The suggestions are opinions produced by software. They are not guarantees that you will like anything.

Menu transcription is automated and will sometimes be wrong: it can misread a name, miss an item, or read a price incorrectly. Always check the actual menu before ordering, and treat any price shown in the app as unreliable.

Allergies and dietary needs — read this

Sip does NOT detect allergens and must never be relied on for a dietary or medical decision. It cannot tell you whether a drink contains dairy, nuts, soy, gluten, or anything else, even when the drink name suggests otherwise, and its description of a drink may be incomplete or wrong.

If you have an allergy or intolerance, ask the café directly, every time. Do not use this app to decide whether something is safe for you to drink.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at support@petalform.com if you believe it has been used without your permission.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13.

Plus subscriptions

Plus removes the monthly limit on menu scans. It is sold and billed by Apple or Google, renews automatically at the interval you chose, and is charged to your store account.

Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play settings — we cannot cancel it for you, and deleting your Sip account does not cancel it. Refunds are handled under the policy of the store you bought it from, not by us.

Acceptable use

Do not use Sip unlawfully, attempt to break or overload it, reverse engineer it, or use automated means to scan menus at a volume a person would not.

Only photograph menus you are permitted to photograph. You are responsible for what you capture.

Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. Menu scanning depends on third-party services and may be unavailable at times; when it is, you can still type a menu in and everything else continues to work offline.

Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that recommendations will suit you or that transcriptions will be accurate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do so.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the Provider resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
